Love the classic stars... Lynn Stevens, Mary Stuart (bad hairdo), and Andrea True are all great. :)

A good role for Leslie Murray but a lousy film
lor_29 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
My favorite porn starlet Leslie Murray has a meaty, central role in SORCERESS, but her bad luck streak continued, as the movie was n.s.g.

Picture opens with Murray pretending to be a Spanish princess as she humps a guy in the kitchen. With improvised dialog she concocts an oddball scheme to hoax his friends at a poker game, posing as a spooky fortune teller. She claims to have special powers to make guys' wishes come true (it's called hooking).

A gal in a curly-haired wig services the first customer after being shown exercising. Back in the kitchen Murray continues her role-playing with hubby, taking the part of a French whore, leading to anal sex.

After mixed-combo action and cross-cut sex scenes, her next palm-reading deals with a guy's fantasizing of ravaging a little girl. "Tubular Bells" from THE EXORCIST plays as a young-looking actress sucking on a lollipop entices the guy, leading to convincing underage sex.

Andrea True shows up as next customer, carrying a Boo Bunny plush toy and referring to her husband as Joe Rock Superstar, a cheap plug for the Sean Costello movie of the time. She's in tears because Joe's a homo, yet another in- joke. True & Murray have a hot, well-photographed lesbian sex scene.

Film turns dark (and rather idiotic) with the next customer Eric Edwards, uncharacteristically sporting a mustache. He's a mean, uppity neighbor obsessed with Leslie. He rapes her, with more anal sex and then chokes her to death, putting Leslie into a coffin that has THE END conveniently painted on the outside. The sloppy filmmakers dropped the premise of a scam (in which Leslie's hubby was secretly taking incriminating photos of the customers) somewhere along the way.

Merely a chance for me to see Leslie Murray (aka Lynn Stevens) do her XXX thing one more time.

Worth Watching for Stevens

Sorceress (1974)

** (out of 4)

A woman gets the idea that she should pretend to be a psychic and offer horny men a chance to have their desires fulfilled.

That's pretty much the only bit of plot that comes from this porno movie that's certainly not a classic but at the same time it's not that bad either. If you're a fan of these type of low-budget porn movies form the 70's then I'm sure this one here will at least keep you slightly entertained. The best thing the film has going for it is Lynn Stevens who plays the lead role. She's at least charming and has enough energy to help the film keep moving. The film clocks in at under a hour so there's nothing here that's overly great but it's slightly entertaining.

Enjoyably lurid Golden Age hardcore outing
Woodyanders3 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
A foxy housewife (an appealing performance by slender and attractive brunette Lynn Stevens) devises a scheme to make more money by pretending to be a psychic who specializes in making people's deepest carnal fantasies come true.

Director Louis Alexander, working from a blithely raunchy script by Ellen Baker and Anne Frost, keeps the effectively sleazy story moving along at a snappy pace and maintains a suitably sordid tone throughout. The sex scenes are quite explicit and energetic: The saucy set piece involving a cute teenage girl complete with pigtails and lollipop and the housewife's lively girl/girl make-out session with an unhappy and repressed woman (a moving and memorable turn by Andrea True) stand out as the definite arousing highlights. Eric Edwards contributes a perfectly creepy portrayal as a sadistic rough trade neighbor who brings things to a shockingly violent and abrupt end. The groovy soundtrack hits the right-on funky spot, with nice unauthorized use of Mike Oldfield's hypnotic instrumental "Tubular Bells." Laslo Max's plain cinematography does the basic trick. A satisfying slice of vintage 70's smut.
